Love N Care won the Best Baby Brand for 2010 at the first ever CHOICE Awards.
CHOICE announced the winners at a ceremony in Sydney earlier this month as part of the consumer group’s 50-year anniversary celebrations.

The nominations were determined by CHOICE with the judging carried out by a panel of its experts against stringent criteria. Choice’s philosophy behind testing of baby products is safety and reliability, built on 50 years of research and feedback by consumers and relevant industry safety bodies.

It assessed applications for this category on the basis of safety, reliability, ease of use, readily available and variety. Love N Care won this category for its range of products that are consistently shown to be safe, solid and dependable in CHOICE tests.

Love N Care makes a wide range of baby products, including strollers, cots, portable cots, change tables, bassinets, high chairs, baths, baby monitors and furniture. Their products are available in many stores across all states and territories, including major retail chains such as Babies Galore. There were no Love N Care recalls listed in the 2008/09 period.

In 1959 fifty people met in the Sydney Town Hall to launch the Australian Consumers’ Association in response to a deeply felt need for the establishment of a powerful consumer voice in the post-war marketplace. A decision to publish a magazine – CHOICE – was made just the next year, at a time when the membership of the Association had only reached 500. The financial structure of this organisation has relied on subscriptions for almost 50 years, which affords CHOICE the freedom to act in a truly independent and credible manner, callinggovernment s and industries to account on behalf of all Australian consumers. CHOICE still receives no government funding and takes no advertising across any of its magazines, website or products. We derive all our income from our 180,000 members and speak on behalf of consumers without fear or favour.
